The Black Equity Coalition (BEC) in partnership with the University of the Pittsburgh and the UPMC Department of Family Medicine will establish a Long-COVID working group to provide input on culturally relevant and equitable care, the Social Determinants of
Health (SDoHs), and ensure the relevance of UPMC’s models to underrepresented individuals.

Our overall goal is to develop an educational and clinical infrastructure to improve awareness and understanding of Long-COVID and expand access to Long-COVID care using a culturally relevant, evidence-based care implementation model. Together, we will train the next generation of diverse community providers of Long-COVID care, improve equitable access to both primary and specialty care for Long-COVID to underserved and rural populations to ensure inclusion and empowerment of diverse communities.
