Our Approach
We bring together the expertise of social scientists, physicians, health care professionals, epidemiologists, public health practitioners, funders, government officials, business and education leaders, researchers, and community advocates.
Our shared purpose is to address the effects of structural racism and oppression on the health, well-being, growth, and economic stability of underserved communities.

Born from urgency.
Growing with purpose.
The coalition began when Black leaders came together to address inequities in the response to COVID-19. They developed culturally relevant strategies to confront the health, social, and economic disparities the pandemic made impossible to ignore.
That work revealed a lasting truth: the coalition’s approach could reach beyond a single crisis. The Black Equity Coalition is committed to addressing the broader systems that shape community well-being.
